Senator Ted Stevens Dead in Alaska Plane Crash?

UPDATE - It has been confirmed: Senator Stevens has died. RIP.

According to a local television station in Alaska, Senator Ted Stevens was among the five people who perished as a result of a tragic plane crash in Dillingham, Alaska. However, the Anchorage Daily News is reporting that the claim is unconfirmed as of now.

Our thoughts at Jumping in Pools are with the families of the dead, and we sincerely hope that Senator Ted Stevens has survived the unfortunate plane crash. Senator Stevens was not only the longest serving Republican in US Senate history, but he was also a airman during the second World War, and received the Distinquished Flying Cross for his service.
